Samsung Expands Certified Re-Newed Galaxy Program to Amazon with Prices Under $500

Samsung has expanded its Certified Re-Newed Galaxy program to include Amazon as a sales channel, offering refurbished smartphones at discounted prices. According to 9to5Google, the South Korean technology firm is now selling over a dozen models through the online retailer, with entry-level pricing starting at $489. This move makes these certified refurbished devices more accessible to consumers who might not shop directly on Samsung’s website.

The refurbished devices undergo a specific process that includes installing new batteries and using official replacement parts. Each unit comes with a fresh one-year limited warranty, distinguishing it from standard used market purchases. While the prices are higher than buying a used device from a private seller, they represent a considerable discount from the original retail price. Buyers can also add these phones to a Samsung Care+ plan for extended coverage, according to Android Authority.

Available Models and Pricing Details

The current Amazon offering focuses on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series. Shoppers can find multiple storage configurations and limited color options for these devices. The Galaxy S24 FE is available in 128GB and 256GB variants, starting at $489. The Galaxy S24+ offers 256GB or 512GB storage options, with prices beginning at $649.

Higher-end models are also included in this refresh. The Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $849 for either 256GB or 512GB storage. For the newer generation, the Galaxy S25+ begins at $749 for 256GB or 512GB models. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is listed starting at $979 for the same storage tiers. These price points remain below the launch costs of new devices but are positioned above the lowest-tier used market rates.

Program Scope and Availability

Previously, Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed program was exclusive to its own direct-to-consumer website, Samsung.com. By moving select models to Amazon, the company is leveraging a larger distribution network to reach a broader audience. The availability is currently limited to specific models within the S24 and S25 families, rather than the entire Galaxy lineup.

This expansion does not change the core terms of the refurbishment program. Devices still receive new batteries and official parts, ensuring they meet Samsung’s quality standards for refurbished electronics. The one-year warranty remains a key differentiator from the open used market, where warranties are often shorter or non-existent. Android Authority notes that these phones come with new batteries and a one-year limited warranty, reinforcing the value proposition for budget-conscious buyers seeking reliability.

What should you do?

Consumers interested in these devices should verify the specific storage and color options available on Amazon, as inventory is limited. It is also advisable to compare the refurbished price against current deals on new devices, as launch prices may have dropped. Buyers should ensure they understand the warranty terms and how Samsung Care+ integrates with the existing one-year coverage before purchasing.

What to do and how to stay safe: Samsung

• Verify the specific storage capacity and color availability for your desired model on Amazon, as options are limited.
• Compare the refurbished price against current retail prices for new devices to ensure the discount is significant enough for your needs.
• Review the terms of the one-year limited warranty and determine if adding Samsung Care+ is necessary for your usage patterns.
• Check the return policy on Amazon for refurbished electronics in case the device does not meet your expectations upon arrival.
