  • Atreides Management led the investment alongside five new institutional backers.
  • The company reports annual recurring revenue exceeding $200 million.

Stockholm-based legal artificial intelligence startup Legora announced a $550 million Series E funding round, achieving a post-money valuation of $8.8 billion. US investment firm Atreides Management led this latest capital raise. The transaction adds to the company’s total funding of $866 million across eight rounds, according to reports from The Next Web and SiliconANGLE.

The round included participation from five new investors: Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners, and J.P. Morgan. Existing backers also reinvested in the company. These existing investors include Accel, Benchmark, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, and Salesforce Ventures. SiliconANGLE noted that Bessemer Venture Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Sands Capital also participated in the round.

Financial and Operational Context

Legora stated its annual recurring revenue has surpassed $200 million. The company highlighted its rapid financial acceleration, noting it grew from $1 million to $100 million in revenue in less than 18 months. It then added another $100 million in revenue in fewer than six months. Legora described this growth rate as faster than any other enterprise software company using a direct sales team.

Founded in 2023, Legora launched its platform in October 2024. The firm now employs more than 1,000 people across 18 offices globally. Seven of these offices are located in North America. Legora plans to use the new capital to expand its presence in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. It will also continue developing its legal AI platform, known as Legora aOS.

Market Adoption and Customer Base

More than 140,000 legal professionals across over 2,400 law firms and in-house teams now use Legora’s software. These customers operate in more than 80 markets worldwide. The United States has become the company’s largest market by revenue. Legora opened its first US office in spring 2025 to support this expansion.

Legora reported that more than half of the AmLaw 50, which ranks the 50 highest-grossing law firms in the US, are now customers. In-house legal departments represented over 40% of new customers in the third quarter. This marks a shift from a year ago, when in-house teams made up only a small fraction of the customer base.
